With Summary Street, students develop a skill that good readers naturally possess - the ability to summarize what they read. They read texts, write summaries of those texts using their own words and receive instant feedback. Their work is measured by Pearson’s state-of-the-art Knowledge Analysis Technologies™ (KAT) engine, which automatically evaluates the meaning of text by examining whole passages.
Summary Street measures students’ writing by comparing it with the actual text and provides feedback on how well they have captured the main idea of the reading passages in their summaries. Plus, Summary Street offers students feedback on spelling, redundancy and relevancy.
